AI Readiness Score (a measure of a company's readiness to deploy AI)
A measurable indicator of an organisation's readiness to deploy AI, expressed on a 0 to 100 scale, calculated in the proprietary yesfor.ai methodology from eight component areas. It shows where the company is ready and where it has blockers, without interpretation. A score below 50 means that deploying AI in the organisation's current state has a high probability of failure.

The AI Readiness Score is one deliverable of the AI Readiness Audit, and at the same time a standalone diagnostic tool. It grew out of a need to quantify a company's readiness in a way that lets a client compare itself over time (an audit in year 1 vs an audit in year 2) and against industry benchmarks.
Eight areas of assessment
Each area has its own weight in the overall score. The weights are empirically anchored in data on the causes of AI project failures:
Business processes (15 points). Whether processes are mapped, standardised, and measured. Without this, AI has nothing to optimise.
Data (15 points). Quality, integration, AI-ready according to Gartner's definition.
Teams and AI Literacy (12 points). Whether people know what AI is for, what it will not do, and how to work with it.
C-level sponsorship (12 points). Whether the board has a designated owner with a KPI tied to the project's success.
Governance (12 points). Whether there are decision rules, a structure of accountability, and an incident response plan.
Technical infrastructure (10 points). Cloud or on-prem, integrations, security, monitoring.
Compliance (12 points). GDPR, the AI Act, sector regulations, readiness for an external audit.
Strategy and ROI framework (12 points). Whether there is a KPI baseline, a definition of success, and a plan to measure over time.
The interpretation scale
0-30: structural unreadiness. Trying to deploy AI today is a waste of budget. 31-50: early readiness. Quick wins in individual processes are possible, large projects are not. 51-70: operational readiness. Pilots can be scaled into production. 71-85: strategic readiness. Enterprise-wide programmes make sense. 86-100: pioneering readiness. The top 5 percent of the Polish market, where the focus shifts from readiness to competitive innovation.
What the Score is not
It is not an end in itself. It does not replace board decisions. It is not a comparison of the company against an "ideal" organisation (which does not exist). It is a starting point for the conversation "what exactly do we do in the next 90 days".
A comparison with the Cisco AI Readiness Index
The Cisco AI Readiness Index from 2024 and 2025 uses six dimensions (strategy, infrastructure, data, governance, talent, culture) and categorises firms into four groups (Pacesetters, Chasers, Followers, Laggards). The Cisco index is global and does not account for the Polish regulatory context (the AI Act, the GDPR as interpreted by UODO) or the specifics of the Polish AI labour market.
The yesfor.ai AI Readiness Score is calibrated for Polish firms of 50 to 3,000 people. The area weights reflect the real bottlenecks of a mid-sized Polish firm, where compliance and governance are in shorter supply than technical infrastructure.
